The site was on a classic strip…the land of painted steel and concrete boxes. In the strip mentality, identity is achieved by denying the basic building form and applying a little flourish. We let the block speak for itself, setting it off with a lightly framed steel canopy. We reduced the building area by having each bay accessed by its own set of doors. On the road side, these doors become the buildings advertising and decoration. On the back side, the doors provide great sunsets and water views.
