The setting is five acres of open pasture bordered by stonewalls. The land was originally part of a 300 year old farm.
Our client was looking for a light-filled modern house that would blend into the landscape. White cedar shingles, metal roof and board formed concrete are all durable, low upkeep materials that develop a patina over time. The interiors are a continuation of the clean, simple exteriors. Plaster walls and ceilings are complemented by white oak floors and cabinets, punctuated by large glass areas that capture views of the surrounding land.
